‘Champagne’ - the Album
“For vocalists who fall under the jazz-R&B-soul categories, it’s common to ground oneself in the aesthetics of the legends who came before. This is especially true of “the greats” of the 40s, the 70s, and more often, the 90s. That’s perfectly good, important even, considering the history, but staying there for too long and for too many releases can handicap one’s individual identity to the general listening audience.
Eliza Dickson’s 2023 debut album “Champagne” doesn’t have that issue whatsoever, dousing herself in a bright, candy-coated look wrapped in a fun and groovy collection of songs that brings out the harmony and production.
“Champagne,” the album, is a fantastic pop package for the classy individual that loves a pastel world.”
“… it’s fucking epic.”

GOLD
In mid-2017, I wrote 5 songs at the wall piano in my family’s sitting room. I didn’t have any plans on doing anything with them, so they lived in my composition book. One day my partner (and sax player), asked “so when are we making a record?”. I laughed, and thought to myself “… I’m not ready for that…”. Fast forward a few months, my partner (probably for the 1000th time) said “So eliza… when are we making a record?”
“GOLD is a fusion of pop, jazz, R&B and blues, bringing an easy listening sound to audiences of all tastes. The EP boasts both Australian and American artists, and features Braxton Cook and Lauren Desberg (USA). The backbone to the EP underpins Eliza's passion for self-worth and self-respect as an artist.”
